Boarding & IB Diploma Program (post-SPM/IGCSE)
Nexus boarding is ideal for exam year students, offering a good routine, balanced lifestyle, peer-to-peer support and expert teacher mentoring after school hours (if required).
Every year, Nexus boarding remains a popular option amongst our IBDP learners (Year 12 and 13) to excel in their studies. Many of the top IBDP achievers at Nexus are boarders, indicating a strong academic advantage and balanced lifestyle in the Boarding House.
For 3 consecutive years, Nexus boarding has produced four learners who achieved 45 points (Perfect Score) in their IBDP examination. A Perfect Score in IBDP examinations is an extraordinary achievement with a very small percentage of learners (typically fewer than 1 per cent per year) achieving this feat worldwide.
Caryn Chan, who is one of the Perfect Scorers in 2021 acknowledges that the secret to her success was the conducive, motivating and supportive schooling and boarding environment at Nexus. “The strong camaraderie between peers and teachers has been the pillar of her IB experience de ella at Nexus. There is always someone that I can reach out to at the boarding house or just by knocking on someone’s door, and it’s reassuring to know that you’re not alone,” she said. Caryn Chan is currently studying Computer Science at Singapore Management University under the Lee Kong Chian Scholarship.
Khoo Qi Xuan, another boarder who achieved a perfect 45 points since 2019 has received the Karsh International Scholarship covering tuition fees and boarding to study Economics at Duke University, USA, and is the first Malaysian to do so. Khoo continues to make a global impact through Technify, a project he leads as a Co-Founder which connects tech talents from US Colleges with NGOs in Southeast Asia to bridge the digital divide and help them with technological needs such as website and app development.
