Where Michigan State G Max Christie might be picked

You are not going to find Max Christie in the first round of too many 2022 NBA mock drafts, which is one of many reasons why Michigan State fans were surprised when the freshman guard a) declared for the draft, and b) stayed in it.

There are certainly some reasons to believe Christie should have stayed at MSU, mostly due to a perceived lack of offensive production, averaging 9.3 ppg in starting 35 games for MSU last season and hitting only 32% of his 3-point attempts.

But it certainly seems like the 6-foot-6, 190-pounder will be selected at some point in the second round, as most – if not all – mock drafts have the five-star recruit out of Chicago being selected.

MSU has two other players eligible to be selected, seniors Gabe Brown and Marcus Bingham Jr., who each declared for the draft despite having an extra year of eligibility left thanks to the extra COVID year the NCAA provided. Both are late-second round possibilities, at best.
